… is back. The urine culture showed Streptococcus anginosus. So I guess that means I do actually have a bladder infection. There was blood in the urine the day of the sample. And now three days later sign of a bacterial infection. I have not yet spoken to a health care provider about it. But we are guessing they’ll want to treat it with antibiotics. In the meantime, I am doing cranberry juice and lots of water. From reading online, this strain is apparently known for creating abscesses, and that really is what it feels like in my bladder. Pretty painful. So, hopefully clearing that up will clear up all the malaise I’m feeling “below the belt.”
It is pretty amazing how fast recurrence became a real concern. I woke up this morning kind of resigned to it and disappointed. I was planning to cancel my hair appointment this week, because if I would have had to go back on chemo, and my hair would all fall out again, then why bother spending any money on it. But now that I know that there is in fact an infectious agent, and likely it will be treatable, and that this probably explains the symptoms, and that the normal CA-125 is likely accurate, then what a relief that is.
Also, we realized that I did in fact earn my Bronze medal for six months of NED, because it would have been as of March 4, six months from the CT scan which originally showed NED. So yay!
Well, thanks for the info – people who are praying will be interested. Please don’t waste time getting help; go today, if possible. Dad >
